Morning Sickness – Does Every Pregnant Woman Get It?

0

Morning sickness is no fun whatsoever. Ask any woman who has it what she thinks about it and she will likely give you a sour face. It is typical of a pregnancy for a woman to experience morning sickness, which is a general feeling of nausea which can last from a few hours all the way up to the whole day. Some women experience morning sickness in the afternoons or evenings and some feel sick the entire day.

These symptoms may last throughout the entire pregnancy for some women, while in others it is typical of the first trimester (first three months of the pregnancy). Many women help use this as a judge for being pregnant. Many women who have had multiple pregnancies noticed that their morning sickness was most severe with their first child.

The only commonality seen across all pregnancies is that there are truly no two pregnancies that are the same. There are guidelines that doctors will use, but by far, there is such a wide range of experiences during a pregnancy, that it is hard to characterize anything as ‘normal.’ But in the case of morning sickness, the only constant is that it frequently haunts women who are pregnant. The variable is the amount of time the woman experiences it and the frequency of the episodes.

The term began being called ‘morning sickness’ because that is when it normally sets in. As mentioned, the feelings known as morning sickness tend to last throughout the entire day for some women. Even each pregnancy is different for the same woman. There are some activities that can help accelerate the negative feelings, including cooking. It varies from woman to woman so it is best to keep note of that which makes you feel the worst and do your best to try and avoid those things.

Popular Remedies For Morning Sickness

One of the most popular remedies for morning sickness in pregnant women is the ginger chew. These can be found a number of places online and can be very relieving for some women. It is not just the ginger chew that helps, but generally anything with ginger in it.

Some women even reported feeling better from some of the ginger-type sodas like birch beer and root beer. Generally, however, the best advice is to avoid all carbonated sodas as this can prove upsetting for the stomach that is already feeling queasy.

There are all manners of urban legends about what you can tell about a baby or a pregnancy when morning sickness is severe. However, these are mostly just urban myths and every pregnancy is different, from one mother to the next.
